OUR MISSION
It's our mission to register and activate all women to vote, especially those in underserved communities.
At Register Her, we know the more inclusive our democracy, the stronger it will be. We believe that representative government means just that. Women account for more than half the population, yet we are woefully underrepresented in federal, state, and local governments. Elected leaders should reflect their communities' experience, perspectives, and diversity. Equal representation will only happen once we register and activate the millions of eligible women not participating in the electoral process. We believe together we can build a better America.
OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLE
Register Her promotes and creates women-centered and women-led voter registration efforts nationwide. Our guiding principle is to identify, partner with, and elevate women leaders within their communities to spearhead voter outreach and ensure eligible women, especially those from underserved communities, receive the resources, civic education, and support to exercise their right to vote successfully.
OUR WORK
Millions of eligible women, especially young women and those in underrepresented communities, either are not registered to vote, or are choosing not to participate in the electoral process. The under-participation of women in the electoral process contributes to women’s underrepresentation in government.
Many women face barriers that limit their participation in the electoral process. These barriers stem from disparities in information access, disinformation, work and care constraints, and ever-changing voting rules and redistricting, to name a few.
Register Her seeks to build a future where gender and racial equity are achieved because elected representatives reflect the diversity of their communities, ultimately creating a truly representative democracy. To realize this vision, Register Her is committed to reaching, educating, equipping, inspiring, and empowering women nationwide to vote and become civically engaged.
