Register Her is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization promoting women-centered and women-led civic engagement across the country. We currently have seven priority states for our Democracy Fellowships. Our VOICE Training Program is available nationwide.
WHY THESE STATES?
We are striving to activate hard-to-reach groups of women. Historically these groups have been overlooked or excluded and continue to be disproportionately negatively impacted by voter suppression measures. Our priority demographic for 2026 are women of color, Indigenous/Native women, LGBTQ+ community and young women (18-34).
Our seven target states in 2026 for our Democracy Fellowships are Arizona, California, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas. We selected these states based on a number of criteria, including the high percentages of BIPOC populations, low voter turnout and low numbers of registered voters, and the percentage of close elections.
