VOICE Program - Voter Outreach, Information, and Civic Education

THE VOICE PROGRAM FOR NONPROFITS AND HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS

162 million low-income Americans interact with public support systems annually, including public housing assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, veterans' support services, and more.

In the United States, voting is strongly tied to household income. Over 75% of people in higher income brackets vote compared to under 50% of low-income Americans. Even though they are critical stakeholders in public systems, low-income Americans, including millions of women, have no say when they don't vote. Register Her aims to empower the millions of women and their families who rely on public systems to meet their essential needs by engaging them in civic life.

Register Her's VOICE Program—short for Voter Outreach, Information, and Civic Education—is a free training initiative designed for staff at health and human services (HHS) organizations. VOICE equips HHS staff with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to participate in our democracy—and to help others do the same. We provide staff with comprehensive toolkits and training to facilitate meaningful conversations about voting with their clients, connect them to resources, and help them register and vote successfully. Staff become "Democracy Messengers." These trusted, community-based service providers can engage, inspire, and inform the millions of women they serve—so they can register to vote and make their voices heard.
